Woohoo!! world race training camp! what an EXPERIENCE!

First of all, here is my team! Team Kaleo!
– Amber Powell, Moriah Whitlow, Grace DiGioia, Alyssa Clark, Steph Gwinn, Annika Smith and Josie Younan

I love them so much!! We have already grown as a team and been so open and vulnerable. Can’t wait to spend 9 moths w these girls:)) (check out their blogs)

Training camp was the best, sweetest, hardest most LIFE changing experience!! Me and 280 other racers arrived to the Adventures in Missions base in Gainesville, GA on the 10th of July – ready and eager to dive right in. If you are a future racer reading every single blog, watching ever video, trying so hard to see what in the world you do at training camp, STOP right there! don’t go into training camp with any expectations. I was that person! i wanted so much control over the situation and HAD to know. and it almost ruined my camp.

Training camp is a special place. the days are packed full. you sit at lunch and are so totally drained that at any minute you could plop over and fall right asleep. but you’re so filled with community and conversation that there is NO time for sleep!

the days were filled with community meals, many many sessions, amazing worship, team and squad time, snack time:), and lots of dancing. each day felt like YEARS yet it passed by so quickly.

i went into my training camp SO worried about being lonely. i was terrified that since i didn’t know anyone, i would constantly feel alone and want to go home. but as soon as you get there, you feel like you belong. the 45 other people in your squad accept you and invite you. you go to sleep feeling satisfied. Because the Lord is working! he’s working so hard.

These past 10 days, i have experienced the voice of the holy spirit more that i ever have. he showed up in so many ways that i can’t even explain. But he only did because i let him. if you show up to training camp with your heart closed off and your walls and guards around your heart, he will TEAR THOSE SUCKERS DOWN!

i heard and experienced Him while waiting in line for a bucket shower. while sitting on a porta pottie:). while laying down in my sweaty tent. while sharing our stinky clothes. while lathering up with poison ivy cream. he’s there always. he’s in the little things.

So here’s everything you need to know about training camp:
– expect to be changed
– open your heart
– be silly, be loud, cry, laugh, hug, sing!
– don’t come in with any expectations and let the Lord RADICALLY prepare you for the field
– be UNCOMFORTABLE!

The lord also blessed me financially during training camp! I have reached my August goal of $10,000! I still have to reach $15,800, so if you feel lead to, click that donate button!

Many Blessings,

Eliza!
