Hello and welcome all!!! My name is Eliza Diamondidis and I am from Chattanooga, TN and I am going on the WorldRace!!!!!

So, first of all, what is the WorldRace? –> The WorldRace is an amazing gap year program where I will be going to Cambodia (3 months), Ethiopia (3months), Nicaragua(1) and Costa Rica(2) and spreading the love of the Lord. I’ll be with a team of roughly 50 people and when arriving to each country, we will split up into smaller teams of 7 or 8. We’ll be doing a wide variety of things from investing in orphanages and churches to doing some manual labor and construction work.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always” Matthew 28:19-20

I memorized that verse in the third grade in order to get a prize from my Sunday School teacher. Now, as the Lord has guided me to this point in my life, I realize the the Lord has called me to make disciples of all nations. And WorldRace was the door that was opened for me to do so.

I was called to the WorldRace because, like most seniors in high school, I had no clue where I was going to end up the next year. I knew generally what I wanted to major in, but every school that I toured or even applied to just didn’t seem right at this time. I hadn’t felt that “feeling” that people explain they get when they know a school is right for them.

Because of this feeling of being stuck, I had started to explore options other than college. Coming from a school that literally is SUPPOSED to prepare you for college and the world beyond, I kind of felt like I would be “breaking the rules” if I didn’t go to college right away. But, as I prayed and prayed about it (oh boy did i pray), the Lord intentionally opened this door for me and I praise Him for doing so.

Now that I have been accepted and am committed to do this journey next year, it is slowly becoming a reality in my head. I am BEYOND excited, but also fearful of many things. But, I am CERTAIN with all of my heart that the Lord will calm those fears and turn them into ways that can be used for His glory.

Now, as I carry on with this next few months of high school left, I am excited and anxious for what is to come! However, this trip will not be possible with out the help of my community, friends and family to help me. Thoughts, prayers and donations are GREATLY appreciated and I can’t wait for what is yet to come!!!!

God bless you all!
